December 8th, 2013 minutes
The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held Sunday, December 8th at South Shore Sportsman’s Club. President, Brad Fisher brought the meeting to order. Treasurer, Tom Scheib, gave the Treasurer’s Report. President, Brad Fisher and Vice President, Jason Plattner gave an overview of our 2013 club events. We have a tremendous turnout with over 60 members present.
The next meeting will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. on January 12th at It’s It bar.
- Club Drawing for $10.00 was won by Herb Richey, who donated it back, thanks Herb!
- next club drawing will be $10.00!
- There was no 50/50 drawing, because we did the gift exchange instead. Which was a great hit, gifts included (but were not limited to):crock pot, 2 boat seats, coffee cups, boat key float with $20.00 Outdoorsman gift card, Ohio State cooler and tumbler, Ski-doo jacket, hat, flag, pedicure kit, snowmobile suit and gift certificate, fishing tool, car wash, $100 bill, decorative sign, cheese gift set, boat plug and GLRC membership.
- Bob and Kim Swick, along with Joe Frilling made a delicious Christmas meal of brisket, ham and many other delectable sides. Thank you everyone for your contributions.
- Brad Fisher has been researching website options for our new website and found someone that was willing to build us a professional website at $500 (50% off). Tom Gottschall moved to pass the website investment (with a $600 cap), Luke Ruane III seconded the motion and it was passed by the majority. We plan on having this website up and running in a few months.
- The Celina Legion is going to pass out Christmas baskets for the needy again this year; it is usually the weekend before Christmas.
Thank you everyone for a great year, it has been a fun one. We are currently at 102 members and continue to grow. Hopefully 2014 is another fruitful year for the club and for your own families as well. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Grand Lake Recreation Club!!
