The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held September 8th at Eagle’s. Approximately 32 members present. President, Brad Fisher, brought the meeting to order and Vice President, Keith Seitz read the August minutes. Treasurer, Kim Swick, read the Treasurer’s report: current balance $10,050.54.

  • ODNR report: lake -6.40″, gate open 3″. 3.15″ rain for August, 25.9″ so far for the year, 0.82″ less than last year. 
    • Full camp the past 17 weeks and for the next 2 weeks as well.
    • Early goose season has started
    • Oct. 15th is Walk with Nature
    • Brutus had a cylinder go out and will be back up as soon as new cylinder is in. Hoedag is currently at Sunnyside 
  • Floating dock: after installation needs longer transition for ramp. Shinn has ordered and will be in this fall.
  • Lake maps are still being worked on 
  • Will be working on LIA safety island dock this winter, to have it ready for spring
  • There have been groups doing clean up. Members on Little Chick and Big Chick
  • At Moose’s next meeting, they are working on organizing people to help clean up soon too
  • Members have asked about getting more shirts on order (bright ones) for the Christmas meeting. Also, working on magnets for Christmas meeting. October meeting we will plan for the Christmas meeting: help? food? suggestions?
  • Dean and Tracey Klosterman made a $500 donation for using the Log Dog. Remember, you can use it anytime you need
  • The annual Trevor Mobley fundraiser went great, they raised even more than anticipated.
  • Heritage Park Trail Levy will speak at the next meeting
  • Moose is getting closer to moving things forward on digging out bay and adding docks.
  • As always, we look forward to your ideas/project for the GLRC. Please let us know if you would like to volunteer to help on projects.
Next meeting is 2PM, October 8th at It’s It
Ditch Cleanup at noon, Sportsman Club
  • Club drawing was for $180. Jack and Judy Thein’s number was pulled: not paid, not present. Next Club drawing is for $200. 
   2023 Dues are now due ($20.00 per family for the year)
