 September 11, 2016 Minutes

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at Bayview.  President, Brad Fisher, brought the meeting to order and Treasurer, Tom Scheib, read the Treasurer’s Report; current balance $2,373.00.  Approximately 25 members present.

The next meeting will be Sunday, October 9th, 2:00 at Sunnyside, with ditch at noon beginning at the Sportsman Club beforehand

  • Dave Faler, Park Manager, gave us an update:
    • lake level is -13 inches below the notche
    • the campgrounds were full for Labor Day
    • The Splashpad was a great success and is now shut down for the season
    • Several campers have said how great our lake is and that they are going to stop going to Loramire and stay here
  • Park Officer, Matt Comer came and spoke to the group
    • new project was proposed: building 4 new duck blinds on Eastbank, designated for Veterans and Disabled Veterans.
    • the timeframe is for next season – TBD
    • 200 feet of concrete is required, along with whatever help we can provide
  • Dave and Gayle Meyer are greatly assisting us with membership letters to past and present members. We hope to send those, along with 2017 event magnets out in October
  • The handicapped dock at Westbank needs to be fixed and replaced. Brad made a motion with a $500 cap, Angie Liess 2nd the motion and it passed unanimously
  • Deny Liette is setting up a 9 pin, no tap bowing event on Halloween weekend for the GLRC
  • Members have requested quarterly meeting in a more professional setting, to avoid background distractions. We will work these in the regular schedule for 2017
  • Club Drawing was for $10.00, JR Oyer’s name was drawn; paid, not present. Next drawing it for $20.00

2016/2017 Dues are now due ($20.00 per family for the year)
