The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held November 13th at Shingle Shack. Approximately 20 members present. President, Brad Fisher brought the meeting to order. Vice President, Keith Seitz read October minutes. Treasurer, Kim Swick gave the Treasurer’s Report. Current balance: General Fund $13,797.26, Trevor Mobley foundation $828.00
- We will soon hold a Membership drive at Brad’s, to stuff and mail membership forms and magnets
- July 1st we will have our 4th of July Beach Jam celebration at Boater’s Beach. Lakeshore Marina will be there to help us as well. Lakeshore Marina is crafting a boat similar to the Log Dog and will be hosting bands on the lake in the future
- Shirts: we will bring the inventory of the new design and order forms for long sleeve tees and zip hoodies to the Christmas Party
- Logg Dogg will be coming in for the winter once the lake begins to have a hard ice
- Thermal binoculars purchased by the Mobley Foundation are in and amazing. These have been tested by the Officers and can see 1.1 miles (people, deer, geese, etc). These will be housed at SM Township Fire Department.
- New magnets are currently on order, hope to have by Christmas party
- Come Spring, we will check on all the lights and buoys to see how the did over the winter. We will number them and sync with LIA maps
- The 5 buoys from the beach have been pulled and are at Behm’s for the winter.
- February 18th is LIA’s Winter Icebreaker at Romers, with Shiverly and Friends performing
- Thoughts and prayers to friends and family of long time LIA member, Tom Rampe, who recently passed away
- Christmas Party will be similar to last year, with gift raffle. Please send us your pictures for the slideshow. Sportsmans will open at noon, party starts at 2, come whenever you like. Swicks will be cooking the main dish, please bring a side and your friends!
Next meeting is 2PM, December 11th at South Shore Sportsman Club: Christmas Party!
- Club drawing was for $80. Doug Liggett’s name was pulled: paid, not present. Next Club drawing is for $90.
2022/2023 Dues are now due ($20.00 per family for the year)
