November 12, 2017 Minutes
The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at Celina Eagles. President, Brad Fisher, brought the meeting to order and read the October minutes. Tom Scheib read the Treasurer’s report; current balance of $4,469.49. Approximately 23 members present.
The next meeting will be the Christmas Meeting, Sunday, December 10th, 2:00 at Sportsman’s Club
- Tom Scheib gave an update on Tom Gottschall, who had a bad fall a couple months ago. He is out of the wheelchair and using a walker. Tom is still fragile, but getting better. Please continue to keep Tom in your prayers
- Park Manager, Dave Faler came and gave an update:
- lake level is -2.21″ below the notche
- 1/2 hour before the tornados last week, the lake was +4″, 1/2 after it was -9″ – amazing how quickly the lake level can rise and fall
- after the early November tornados, the East Bank looked the worst it ever has. ODOT promptly sent 7 guys in with dump trucks, bobcats, etc to help clean up the park very quickly
- Camping this year was successful. Revenue was up 12% and even as late as October 21st (with that pleasant burst of warm weather) the campgrounds were 95% full
- With the great efforts of Tom Scheib, Dave Meyer and Jason Plattner, representing the GLRC, there were 50 stumps and 100 logs brought in last month for Stump Removal. Dave Faler applauded our efforts and the LIA also recognized our hard work and gave us a round of applause at their recent meeting
- Dredging is complete for the year. There was a record number of 455,550 cubic yards of dredge material removed this year
- The GLRC’s boat, Log Dog, will stay in the water until the ice comes. If you need to use the boat, just contact Brad or Fatty and they will get you setup
- Christmas meeting is December 10th. Renee Welch will be purchasing gifts to raffle off on behalf of the Club. You may bring a wrapped gift to donate to the raffle (approx $20 in value), but not necessary. We will get gifts for the young children of the club, email me genders and ages of the kids, so we can plan accordingly. Please bring a covered dish. The GLRC will furnish the main course and Bob Swick will be leading the cooking team. Lastly, elections will be held at the Christmas meeting for all Officers and Trustees. If you would like to run, or know someone that would make a good candidate, please be sure to attend
- We currently have 111 paid families. Please note that 2018 dues are currently due, see any Officer to pay your dues
- We are diligently working on the Events of 2018 magnets. 2018 will include quarterly meetings at locations were we have a private room, away from public distraction
- Club drawing was for $70.00, Joe Frilling’s number was pulled; paid, not present. Next drawing will be for $80.00
- Please email me with any ideas, questions or comments
2018 Dues are now due ($20.00 per family for the year)
(Thank You if you have paid your dues)
