The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held June 11th at Celina Moose. Approximately 21 members present. President, Brad Fisher, brought the meeting to order. Treasurer, Kim Swick, read the Treasurer’s report: current balance $9,644

  • Logg Dogg: grapple and magnet are being ordered. Boat has been out and doing clean ups, sign fixing, and lights. Let us know when you need to use the boat for projects.
  • Checks will be presented to the local Fire Departments from Trevor Mobley Foundation.
  • Trevor Mobley Foundation’s annual event this year is September 9th at the Eagles.
  • Working on dredge pipes/balls
  • In the past 2 years we have purchased $50K worth of safety related items for the lake!
  • Bicycle Poker Run was successful: 361 one riders and $3,375 raised.
    • Thanks to the Hamilton and Hayes families for their help on the new popsicle stand on Harrison Road
    • Next year we plan on raffling off a bike 
  • ADA Dock on West Bank and light for the oil derrick: GLRC’s contributions will be sent ($5K to the dock and $1,650 for light). Thank you to Shinn Brothers for their work on the ADA dock.  Angie King is also working with Brad and LIA on additional oil derrick plans.
  • Beach Jams:
    • July 1st Rosenbeck & Dean Axe (by GLRC)
    • July 29th Grove Hill (by Lakeshore Marina)
    • August 26th 2 Miles to Empty (by Lakeshore Marina)
  • Safety Island needs some trimming around the lights
  • Moose is planning on starting wall work at the end of the summer/beginning of fall: block entrance and pump out/dig area deeper and add more docks
  • State Report: lake level is +2″
    • multiple projects have been completed
    • multiple repairs are ongoing
    • Campgrounds were full for Memorial Day weekend
  • As always, we look forward to your ideas/project for the GLRC. Please let us know if you would like to volunteer to help on projects.
Next meeting is 2PM, July 9th at Lakeside Hideout (old Sunnyside)
  • Club drawing was for $120. Don Howell’s number was pulled: paid, not present. Next Club drawing is for $140. 
   2023 Dues are now due ($20.00 per family for the year)
