The Quarterly meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held on June 13th at the Celina Moose. Approximately 18 members present. President Brad Fisher brought the meeting to order, and Vice President Keith Seitz read the May minutes. Tom Scheib gave his Treasurer’s report. Previous balance was $4,936.90, and we have a new balance of ~$8,700. (Proceeds from Bicycle Poker Run still being finalized.)
- Poker Run was another great success!
- 379 total registered
- We had great door prizes and raffle items! Thanks for all the donations! We had a 50/50, best 3 hands, and sold all of our shirts (Thanks Lisa!)
- Thank you so much for all the volunteers, business establishments, and everyone who made this a flawless day! We have not received a single complaint on the event, but please let us know if you hear anything. (noted on the restroom situation)
- The new GLRC flags are in. Thank you JR Oyer and family for donating them!
- Continuing to work with LIA on the LED channel signs.
- Depth Finder has been installed on the Log Dog, will be complete once sender unit is attached.
- Sonar unit is up for the state and running great. This helps the dredge crew find the stump right away, and then they are able to use the excavator to remove.
- JR and Keith are planning on taking the Log Dog out Saturday, June 19th, for a beach cleanup. Please meet at Rustic at 8:30 if you can help, and bring a rake. (Weather permitting.)

- The Cancer poker run went well last weekend. It was a great event and a lot of fun! There many donations and they were able to net ~$35K!
- The First Annual Trevor Mobley Memorial Fundraiser is September 11, 2021.
- Parents of Trevor and his friend came to the June meeting to discuss the event. The goal is to light up Grand Lake with the same spirit and love that Trevor brought into this world. Net proceeds from the event will go to funding lights and other safety items to aid in safely navigating the lake at night. The families have sought our guidance on account of GLRC’s knowledge of the lake, reliable manpower and follow through, and association with the State Park and other legal entities (whose permission is required before installing additional lights.) It is our pleasure to do everything we can to see this mission is accomplished and keep the lake safe!
- Not only is this an amazing cause, but it sounds like a great time too: golf, auction, dinner, entertainment and more! See link for more: https://www.facebook.com/
