February 10, 2019 Minutes

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at Bayview.  Vice President, Jason Plattner, brought the meeting to order and read the minutes.  President, Brad Fisher gave the Treasurer’s report. 19 members present.

The next meeting will be Sunday, March 10th, 2:00 at Bayview

The March meeting was initially scheduled for Beach Point, we learned at the February meeting that they have since closed and are up for sale.

• Jason Plattner went into great detail on the PO Box situation, which has been confirmed resolved, we sent letters to the box from 3 locations and they were received. I sent a separate email to the group detailing this.
• The election of all Officers (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) and the one year Trustee will be held at the March 2019 meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club (per the By-Laws) . Nominations will be accepted in writing, phone or e-mail from February 1st 2019 To March 1st 2019 . All elected positions will take effect April 1st 2019 . Contact  Dave Meyer for nominations .   • There are two more Trustee positions that do not need filled .
    • Two year term , up in 2020 (Dave Meyer)
    • Three year term , up in 2021 (Mark Oyer)
• The two new safety suits have been purchased and delivered to Fire Departments. We have bought a total of four suits this season and still have over $3,000 in the bank.
• Lake Cleanup falls on Easter Weekend this year, April 20^th, which is Earth Day. We will still be participating and hope you can too.
• Ryan Beatty received quotes from Paint the Town. It is $600 for ¼ page ad to run the whole year. Or $300 for six months. We would list our mission statement, along with our meeting and event schedule. The ad can be updated/edited each month if needed. Amy Ruane made the motion to move forward with the $300 6-month option, Renee Welch seconded the motion, it passed unanimously. The fine details are still being discussed.
• June 8th will be the date for next year’s Bicycle Poker Run. Please email me your suggestions, concerns to the February meeting. We will meet with Bayview before the March meeting to discuss.

  • Beer and water troughs
  • Better raffle prizes
  • Signs and designated areas assigned to volunteer workers

• Club drawing was for $70.00, Bob and Kim Swick’s name was pulled, paid, not present. Next drawing $80.00.

2019 Dues are now due ($20.00 per family for the year)
