Lake Level – approx. -2.60”

 

Park

  • Park continues to operate the gates under the lake level management plan.
  • Some interesting facts related to this season –
    • December 20 (-9”)
    • December 22 (0)
    • December 24 (+3”) In 4 days lake rose 12”
    • January 14 (+6) In 25 days lake rose 15”
    • January 16 opened 1 gate 60”
    • January 31 reduced 1 gate to 30”
    • February 19 (-8.33”)
    • February 24 (+1.35”) opened 1 gate 60” This was due to snow melt runoff
  • Starting to see some ice push. Reports of 20+” of ice in some areas. This historically has happened.
  • 25% discount on camping, private and state docks
  • Docks invoices to go out in mail soon
  • Inaugural Grand Lake Marathon to be held Sept 27 with options of a full, half, kids, 10K and 5K. Go to grandlakemarathon.com to register or learn more. 600 signed up to date. This will cause some traffic issue with some road closures lasting 6+ hours
  • Governor’s Cup Regatta –      August 23-24 is moving ahead full steam with some new ideas. A new sponsor      appreciation event will be held later this month.
  • Utilizing capitol funds      from Senator Faber to electrify more campsites, convert some site to full      service (water & sewer), plant trees, construct shelter house and      renovate east bank shelters
  • Community is awaiting      outcome of a grant submitted to reconstruct West Bank road. If approved      construction sometime after Labor Day
  • Dredge Program
    • New dredge still on       schedule for June delivery
    • Mother Nature is       impacting DMRA construction schedule
      • Should be constructing        WSU DMRA by next LIA meeting
    • Still planning to reclaim       old derrick and pull stumps in April
