Lake Level (2/07/13 at 9:00am) – approx. -6.23”

Park
• Park has enacted the lake level management plan developed by a local committee. The plan is to try to maintain the lake level at 9” below the notch of the spillway from Oct 1 thru March 15. Some interesting facts related to this season –
o December 20 (-9”)
o December 22 (0)
o December 24 (+3”) In 4 days lake rose 12”
o January 14 (+6) In 25 days lake rose 15”
o January 16 opened 1 gate 60”
o January 31 reduced 1 gate to 30”
• 25% discount on camping, private and state docks
• Inaugural Grand Lake Marathon to be held Sept 27 with options of a full, half, kids, 10K and 5K. Go to grandlakemarathon.com to register or learn more. 400 signed up to date (about 50% full & 50% half)
• Other annual events

o Celina Freedom Days – July 4-6

o Fall Festival – Sept 19-21
• Utilizing capitol funds from Senator Faber to electrify more campsites, convert some site to full service (water & sewer), plant trees, construct shelter house and renovate east bank shelters
• Community is awaiting outcome of a grant submitted to reconstruct West Bank road. If approved construction sometime after Labor Day
• Linear Aeration – Celina Rotary (Pullman Bay) & another public area to be announced soon
• Tragic incident last weekend. Reminder that there is no such thing as 100% safe ice. There are always open areas – waterfowl, aeration, in flowing water and areas that are unexplainable.
o Make sure someone else knows your plans
o Check ice thickness before going on it
o Go with a partner but stay spaced out
o Have a life line attached to shore
o Wear a PFD
o Carry ice picks

• Dredging
o New dredge is being manufactured with a mid-June delivery date
o Oil derrick reclamation – pulled up rock and post driven around it – April 1st
o Annual stump removal for 2014 will be April 14-25 & November 10-26
o Dredge Material Relocation Area across St Rt 703 from Wright State University (WSU) will begin as soon as one at Indian Lake is completed. This is in partnership with WSU and the Western Ohio Education Foundation allowing 40 acres to be utilized.
