October 14, 2018 Minutes
The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at Shingleshack. President, Brad Fisher, brought the meeting to order. Treasurer, Tom Scheib, read the Treasurer’s report; current balance of $6,330.11. Approximately 22 members present.
The next meeting will be Sunday, November 11th, 2:00 at Bellas
- Saturday, October 27th Bayview will be holding their open house for snowmobiles, with proceeds going to the Grand Lake Recreation Club. We will have a booth setup to offer information and recruit members. Weather permitting, we hope to bring the Log Dog to the open house as well
- The GLRC handed out water to the runners at the Grand Lake Marathon
- approximate 140 people ran by Brad and Alisha’s house
- people commented that Gatorade was preferred, we’ll look into buying that for next year
- The guys are going to take the Oil Derrick replica down for the winter this week
- We received the $2,100 donation match from the LIA, this was 50% of our contributions of the GPS’s, rescue suits and masks. They are good support and told us to let them know of anything we need in the future
- The AED is on order
- Magnets for 2019 are in the works, we will go with the larger ones again. Any suggestions for improvement are welcome
- Elections to be held in December
- June 8th will be the date for next year’s Bicycle Poker Run.
- Entry fee will be $10/person going forward
- Dave Meyer designed and completed signs; “caution bikes”, “BPR parking” and signs for the stops (restaurants/bars)
- Dave also created a 3×4′ dry erase board to list the prizes and winners
- Please keep thinking of a design for new GLRC shirts, we’ll keep same logo, but message about what we do on the back.

- Club drawing was for $40.00, Roi and Sundee Filka’s name was pulled, paid, not present. Next drawing $50.00.
2019 Dues are now due ($20.00 per family for the year)
