The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held November 14th at Shingleshack. Approximately 21 members present. President Brad Fisher brought the meeting to order. Tom Scheib gave the Treasurer’s report, current balance of $10,719.32.

  • Brad and Keith attended the last LIA meeting. Overall, really good update on the lake – there are good things happening. We LIA’s website for full details.
  • Last week we brought the Oil Derrick in for the winter.
  • We still plan on having one last fall/winter lake cleanup of the three beaches, let us know if you are able to help. Log Dog will come out of the water after this cleanup. After, we will store at Outdoorsman to maintain motor warranty. Also, Outdoorsman is donating the time to winterize for us (thank you!).
  • Keith Seitz is heading up the Log Dog rework – more details to come.
  • The water stop for the Marathon went well, thank you to all that came out to help.
  • Tom Scheib and Dave Meyer recently went on a boat ride to check on all of the lights, noting which ones needed maintenance. Additionally, we ordered 12 new lights and batteries. The State fixed the lights on the spillway. 26 new bucket lights will be assembled this month by Dave and Brad.
  • We continue to work on the light project with the State and Mobley family. We have mapped out our proposal and will need to meet with the State again for approval. More to come.
  • We are in contact with Albert’s Sporting Goods to develop new GLRC shirts that you will be able to order from our website.
  • Bicycle Poker Run is June 11th 2022 at Bayview. Let us know of any new ideas you have to improve this event.
  • Beach Jams for next year are scheduled:
    • July 3rd: Dean Axe and Friends
    • July 30th: Rosenbeck and Friends
    • August 27th: TBD (currently being evaluated)
  • If you have any pictures from events that you could share for our Christmas slideshow and website, please email to us: grandlakerec@gmail.com 
  • Meeting magnets have been ordered and should be ready by the next Christmas meeting.  
  • Hope to see you at the Christmas meeting, Fisher’s and Swick’s are making the main course, bring a friend and a side!
Next Quarterly/Christmas meeting is 2PM, December, 12th at Sportsmans’
  • Club drawing was for $150. Jack & Judy Thein’s number was pulled, paid, not present. Next drawing is for $160!
   2022 Dues are now due ($20.00 per family for the year)
