November 11, 2018 Minutes
The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at Bella’s. President, Brad Fisher, brought the meeting to order and read the October minutes. Treasurer, Tom Scheib, read the Treasurer’s report; current balance $5,178.64. Approximately 21 members present.
The next meeting will be our Christmas Meeting: Sunday, December 9th, 2:00 at Sportsman’s Club
- The election of all Officers and the one year Trustee will be held at the March 2019 meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club (per the By-Laws) . Nominations will be accepted in writing , phone or e-mail from February 1st 2019 To March 1st 2019 . All elected positions will take effect April 1st 2019 . Contact Dave Meyer for nominations . - There are two more Trustee positions that do not need filled .
- Two year term , up in 2020 (Dave Meyer)
- Three year term , up in 2021 (Mark Oyer)
- The Christmas party will be at the Sportsman’s Club. Fatty, Swick and Brad will be the chefs for the main course. Please bring a covered dish. Pam Miller and Cindy Pike volunteered to be in charge of purchasing presents for the gift raffle.
- Magnets for 2019 are complete and will be distributed at the Christmas meeting.
- The Oil Derrick replica is down and stored.
- The Log Dog is still in the water in case anyone needs it.
- Dave Faler was present and gave updates:
- lake level was between 6-11 inches above the notch (winds and storms last month). The crops play a big factor on lake level, example:
- crops on: 4 inches of rain = 1 inch in the lake
- no crops: 1 inch of rain = 4 inches in the lake
- Buoys have been removed. If one has been missed, or if you have an adopt a buoy you need removed, let Dave know and they will assist.
- State Park restrooms and shower houses have been winterized.
- 11-19-18 was lake drawdown.
- Dave will be having a Friends of Grand Lake press release. Among other things, Dave will be thanking the GLRC for all our contributions this past year: AED for the pool, rescue breathing masks, stump removal (68 stumps), sonar unit, batteries for lights, beach cleanup. Keep an eye out for this.
- If you or someone you know has 10+ acres and would like dredge material, please let Dave or someone in the Club know.

- Renee and Amy are working on quotes for a new batch of shirts. New message to be put on the back, so people know what we are all about.

- Club drawing was for $50.00, Michelle Franck’s name was pulled, not paid, not present. Next drawing $60.00.
2019 Dues are now due ($20.00 per family for the year)
