                                  May 11, 2014 Minutes

The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at Celina Moose.  President, Brad Fisher brought the meeting to order.  Treasurer, Tom Scheib gave the Treasurer’s Report.  Approximately 25 members present.

 

The next meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. on June 8th at Duckfoot.

 

  • Brian Miller from the State was present to give a report
    • there has been a lot of traffic, ramps are 75% occupied
    • a new shower house is going up at the campgrounds
    • getting splash pad for the kids
    • there are East Bank shelter renovations
    • Capitol money is used to make improvements
    • 25% off camping this year
    • new dredge named Hodog will go into the lake in June
    • water level is 6.5 inches above the notch
    • Brian said that we did a great job on our lake clean up on 4/26 and he really appreciates our help!
    • West Bank road will be getting redone.  Celina got a million dollar grant to finish the boardwalk
    • our work on the Oil Derrick was in the Daily Standard & Lima paper, there was 280 ton of rip rap moved
    • the Governor’s Cup will happen this year
    • the water advisory for the young and the elderly was in the paper again this year
    • Brad gave an overview of the Club’s website, please check it out at www.grandlakerecclub.com
    • Please see the Rec Club’s website for the necessary items needed when getting a boat check on the lake.
    • Grand Lake Recreation Club shirts are now available; $10.00 for short sleeve, $15.00 for long sleeve.
    • We purchased coolie cups to give away at the Bicycle Poker run at just $ 0.32 each
    • local fire departments are in need of rescue equipment.  At next month’s meeting we will decide how much to donate.
    • ConAg sold us concrete at $5.00 a yard for the Oil Derrick Reclamation, instead of $20.00 a yard; thanks ConAg!
    • You are able to get beer permits for the Shelter Houses if needed, contact Brian Miller
    • The Val-Pak add for the Bicycle Poker Run ran in May, thanks again to Rick Nuerrenbrock for donating this for us!
    • Club Drawing was for $30.00.  Jeff and Annie Price were called, but not present. Next drawing will be for $40.00
    • 50/50 drawing for $35.00 was won by Jeff Frysinger who donated it back to the Club, thanks, Jeff!)

 

2014 Dues are now due ($20.00 a family for the year)
