July 14th, 2013 minutes
The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at Shingleshack. President, Brad Fisher brought the meeting to order. Brad gave an overview of upcoming events and other club information.
The next meeting will be held this Sunday at 2:00 p.m. on August 11th at Beach Point (formerly Windy Corners). There is ditch cleanup starting at noon. Meet at the South Shore Sportsman’s Club if you can help. It doesn’t take long with help!
- Hog Roast on June 29th went well despite the rain. Thanks to all who attended.
- Club Drawing: Carl Schroeder (Not Present)
- next club drawing will be $40.00!
- August 24th is the Corn Roast at Bass Landing Shelter House. Ed Waldman will start cooking 100 chicken halves starting at 11:00 AM (if anyone would like to come hangout/help), dinner will be served at 5:00 PM. Bring your family and friends (non-members welcome!) and a covered dish (BYOB).
- October 13th is the Grand Lake Rec Club Gun Raffle, tickets need turned in by this day. The drawing will be held at 3:00 PM at the South Shore Sportsman’s Club. Here are some of the details:
- tickets are $10.00 each
- there are five guns raffled off; see attached for details
- there is a coupon on each ticket stub for a free one day range pass at Kremer’s Guns (this makes your ticket virtually free!)
- if someone from out of state wins, they need to go to Kremer’s to pick up their gun and Kremer’s will handle all the paperwork for the winner there
- if you win a gun that you already have or do not want, Kremer’s will give you in-store credit for the gun, and you can use that towards something you prefer.
- The Club’s goal is to sell 500 tickets. Proceeds will go to safety equipment and other improvements at Grand Lake St. Marys.
- buy tickets for yourself and take a handful to sell! Contact Brad Fisher, Tom Gottschall, or simply respond to this email, and we will get them to you.
- Look for an upcoming press release of the Club’s donation for safety lights in The Evening Leader coming soon.
