January 14, 2018 Minutes
The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at the Rustic Haven. Vice President, Jason Plattner, brought the meeting to order and read the December minutes. Tom Scheib read the Treasurer’s report; current balance of $4,957.03. We had a really great turnout for a traveling meeting, approximately 27 members present.
The next meeting will be Sunday, February 11th, 2:00 at Bayview
- The LIA has offered to back us on donations for safety items for Fire Department, ODNR, etc. Let us know if you have a good cause at the next meeting and we can vote on it.
- The Oil Derrick replica is down for the winter and being stored at Brad’s. We decided against the plaque, instead we will make plaques to hang in our local establishments noting the history of the derrick and the donors who helped build it.
- The tributary signs, that Dave Meyer headed up, were put up by the ODNR at no cost to us.
- June 9th is the GLRC Bicycle Poker Run! Last year we had 471 riders, our goal is 500 – let’s hit that this year!
- Lake Cleanup is April 21st this year
- 2018 Event magnets are complete and have been mailed. If you would like more for yourself, or to pass out, please see any officer.
- Club drawing was for $10.00, Robert & Jeannie Jaeggi’s number was pulled; not paid, not present. Next drawing will be for $20.00.
- 2017 we had a total of 110 families paid for the year. I know it is early, but so far in 2018, we only have 43 paid families. Let’s see if we can get more than 110 this year!
- Improvements have been made to the website. Please visit it and let me know you suggestions. (link at bottom of minutes)
- As always, please email me with any ideas, questions or comments.
2018 Dues are now due ($20.00 per family for the year)
(Thank You if you have paid your dues)
