The meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held April 11th at Shockers. Approximately 17 present. President, Brad Fisher brought the meeting to order and read the March minutes. One correction to March minutes: Treasurer position is still open, Secretary is Amy Ruane. Brad also gave the Secretary’s report. Current balance of $6,582 (note this still includes sonar unit payment).
April 24th is the annual Lake Cleanup. We will meet at Rustic Haven for breakfast and go out shortly after. Please let us know if you can make it, so we can be prepared accordingly. Additionally, if you would be able to help and bring your boat, that would be great! Contact info below just drop a quick text, or email the Rec Club.

Brief summary of project/events discussed:
-We have worked with the LIA on signs and solar lights. So far, one was installed on the Rustic channel sign and works great. Let us know if you see any out and/or in need of repair
-A new dock was installed on Safety Island by hunters.
-Keith is researching a depth finder for the boat, this would be a useful tool for the Log Dog.
-Bicycle Poker Run is scheduled for June 12th, registration begins at 10AM. Return by 4PM, announcements will be at 5PM. We will be doing early registration at Bayview and Shoreline again this year. The flier is in the works, should have in a week or so. Dave Meyer is working on Banners. Weekly meetings continue with Bayview. Entertainment will be from 2-6PM and also 7-close. Bayview will be providing the food. Parking will be the same as last year as well. Bars are welcome to add their own events and/or contests independently.
-Mark (JR) Oyer is ordering two new large GLRC flags for the Log Dog. They are two-sided, $77/ea and have a one year warranty.
-St. Marys annual Tailgate for Cancer will now have a boat poker run (June 5th)
-Beach Jams: we will have three this year:
- July 4th Dean Axe and Friends
- July 31st Rosenbeck and Friends
- August 28th TBD
-Oil Derrick will be up in the next week or two
Club drawing was for $90. Travis Young’s number (138) pulled, not paid, not present. Next drawing is for $100!
2021 Dues are now due ($20.00 per family for the year)
