The  meeting of the Grand Lake Recreation Club was held at Behm’s.  President, Brad Fisher, brought the meeting to order and read April Minutes.  Treasurer, Tom Scheib, read the Treasurer’s report; current balance of $6,561.07.  Approximately 22 members present.

The next meeting will be Sunday, June 10th, 2:00 at Moose (Quarterly Meeting)

  • Current paid member count: 99 families and 17 businesses.
  • Stan Grimm, owner of Behm’s donated $1,500 to the GLRC. There was an article in the paper.
  • Dave Faler attended and gave the ODNR report. The lake is 4.71” above the notch. He commended the GLRC on our involvement on Lake Cleanup day, we were 2/3 of the people involved in this event. The new pool at the State Park is complete and the Friday before Memorial Day, there will be an opening ceremony and it will be officially open.
  • Lake Cleanup went very well. We brought logs into Duckfoot’s and they were quickly taken by local campers. Also, Boater’s Beach was thoroughly cleared and looks great! Thank you all so much who participated!
  • The Bicycle Poker Run now has a full page ad in Paint the Town magazine! Thank you Ryan Beatty for heading up this project and getting us a good deal and a new business member.
  • Sonar Units have been purchased. Our original budget was $3,600. We purchased locally from Freedom Outdoors and they gave us a great deal at $2,300.
  • Renee Welch reached out to a bike shop in Piqua for the Poker Run and they are going to give us a deal on bikes to raffle off for the Bicycle Poker Run. Renee and Steve Welch, Ryan Beatty and others are going to donate money towards the purchase of some bikes; thank you guys!
  • Please think of new t-shirt ideas for the quarterly meeting coming up. We’ll keep our current logo, and would like to enhance the design, like adding a line or two on the back that explains what we are all about.
  • Next Club drawing is $60!

2018 Dues are now due ($20.00 per family for the year)

(Thank You if you have paid your dues)

Respectfully submitted by Amy Ruane, Secretary
